HOW DO I APPLY?
Simply submit a Hartnell College Application Form. Forms are available in the schedule of classes, Admissions office or online at www.hartnell.edu
WHAT ARE THE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS?
You must be18 years of age or older; individuals under the age of 18 must meet the following requirements to qualify for admission:
▪ Graduation from high school, or
▪ Equivalent (GED) test or the California High School Proficiency Exam, or
▪ Students currently enrolled in the K-12 system with a completed Concurrent Enrollment Petition
WHAT ARE THE PROGRAMS OFFERED?
Current programs offered include Agriculture Business, Agriculture Production, Diesel Technology, Welding Technology, and Precision Technology.
Curriculum sheets may be obtained in the Hartnell College Transfer Center, Counseling office or the Ag. Institute office in the Tech building.
WHAT CLASSES DO I TAKE AT HARTNELL COLLEGE?
You will take your general education and major courses in your major at Hartnell. Discuss the G.E. and major requirements with a Hartnell College counselor, or call for an appointment at (831) 755-6820. Robert Spier is the counselor whom works closely with the Ag. Institute.
WILL I BE ABLE TO TRANSFER TO A CSU OR U.C. UNIVERSITY WHEN I COMPLETE THE PROGRAM?
Students can transfer to the CSU or U.C. system universities such as Monterey Bay, Cal Poly, Fresno, Chico, or U.C. Davis, where we have agreements that allow or courses to be readily accepted for equivalent courses. You will need to meet the same requirements as any other transfer student. If you complete registration for admission, including G.E. and have competitive G.P.A. you will be eligible for transfer. We recommend you work closely with a Hartnell College counselor to ensure the greatest opportunity for acceptance.
Support is available for incoming students with majors in the Ag. Institute. We will be offering up to thirty scholarships of $1,000 each for Ag. students for the Fall 2009 semester.
Application packets are available online through the Scholarship office or the Ag. Institute office and are due on May 12, 2010. Additional financial aid is available through the Financial Aid office on campus.
STUDENT FEES: Hartnell College Enrollment Fee…$20.00 per unit + $4.00 student fee. Non-Resident Tuition $159.00 per unit +normal registration fees.
