Nursing & Allied Health 59th Annual Pinning Ceremony
(Nursing and Allied Health)
The Nursing Program at Hartnell College will hold its 59th annual pinning ceremony on May 31st, 2013 inside the Western Stage. The Allied Health department will recognize 30 Registered Nursing students and 16 Vocational Nurses.
Pinning is a very important milestone for a nurse. Originating from a tradition that dates back a thousand years and has carried on throughout history, the pinning ceremony is a rite of passage in which the nursing faculty embrace the new graduates into the profession.
For information on the traditions of the nursing pinning ceremony, please see an article by Denise Baird, one of Hartnells 2011 graduates, at http://www.hartnell.edu/news/nursing.html.
