Welcome to the Homepage for Dr. Jesse Cude
Thanks for visiting. If you have a physics question, please feel free to call, email, or come by my office for a chat. If I don't know the answer to your question, we will find out who does!

If you have an unquenchable thirst for understanding how and why things in the world around you work the way they do, please consider signing up for a physics course.

Personal Note
I retired in June 2006 after enjoying teaching physics at Hartnell College for 30 years. Previous to Hartnell I taught physics for five years at Palo Verde College in Southern California. Before that I was a graduate student in the physics department at the University of Colorado. My doctoral research was concerned with the measurement of the specific heat of biopolymers at very low temperatures (1.5-20 K). It was great experience, because it involved learning about cryogenics, vacuum systems, electronics, and computers. I also had to learn to get along with other people in my lab group and how to communicate what I was doing with them and the outside world.

Other non-teaching experience includes pulsed nmr spectroscopy measurments on coal and gathering data for writing environmental impact reports for a nuclear power plant. Non-professional interests include swimming, hiking, photography, and home improvement projects.

Retirement plans include lots of travel but also staying in touch with the physics students at the college. I plan to stay involved with the physics club as well as the MESA program. I might even be talked into helping with a physics homework problem now and then.
