In order to take this course, you will need to have access to a Windows or Macintosh computer and an Internet account. If you do not have the necessary equipment and Internet account at home or at your workplace, students enrolled in
this course will be able to obtain access through Hartnell College or CSUMB. Your instructor will provide additional details at the orientation session.
If you have the required equipment (computer, modem, browser software) and need to obtain an Internet account, you can find your local Internet Service Provider in the yellow pages of your telephone book listed under Internet Services. There are also a variety of national Internet Service Providers such as America Online and others. The specifications for the kind of Internet account you need are described as follows:
A normal telephone line and 28.8 baud modem will allow you to complete every assignment in this course. If you have an ISDN or T-1 line connection, screens will load and appear more quickly, however this course was designed for users working over regular telephone lines. |
