Hartnell College is holding its popular two-day registration event this weekend, Friday and Saturday, January 9 and 10, for people who want to take classes during the spring semester. The Friday event will be at the student center on the main campus in Salinas from 7 in the morning to 7 at night. On Saturday, the Rally moves to the King City Education Center, also from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Registration Rally is a new approach to registering for classes. It is a one-stop shop for becoming a student, with everything anyone would need to sign up for classes, apply for financial aid, learn about academic assistance programs, get advice from an academic adviser, take assessment tests, buy books and supplies, get library privileges, and buy parking permits.
It is also a festive occasion for current students, future students, family members, friends, and those who are even a little bit curious about Hartnell. There will be music, student clubs, food, family activities, and games for all.
“We have been changing everything to focus completely on the needs of our students,” said Associate Vice President of Student Affairs and Athletics Dr. Greg Peterson. “We are holding intersession classes this spring for students who want to achieve their academic goals in a faster time-frame, and we’re moving toward a very student-centered, customer-oriented approach to enrollment. Registration Rally is about the fastest, easiest way to sign up for classes there is.”
The Spring semester begins at Hartnell on January 26. Bilingual services are available all day long at both registration events.
