There is still time to enroll for Hartnell College spring classes, which begin Monday, Jan. 26, according to Mary Dominguez, director of enrollment services.
Day, evening and Saturday classes will be offered at Hartnell's main campus, located at 411 Central Ave. in Salinas, the college's East Campus, located at 1752 East Alisal St., and the King City Education Center, located at 117 North Second St. in downtown King City.
"We recommend that students register as early as possible to insure they get the classes they want or need," said Dominguez. The college will offer about 100 more spring classes than offered in the fall. Fall classes were reduced due to an uncertain fiscal situation.
Dominguez said students can apply for admission or register for classes in several different ways.
For the first time in Hartnell's history, students can enroll by going online. "We're excited about bringing this convenience to individuals who want to attend Hartnell College," she said. Dominguez explained that to apply or register for classes online, students should visit www.hartnell.edu and click on "Steps to Enroll". Online registration closes Jan. 22. She said students also can register by telephone through Jan. 22 by calling (831) 755-6755.
Another option for enrolling is during in-person registration, which will be held Jan. 15, 16, 20 through 22 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the main campus and the King City Education Center as follows:
Thursday, Jan. 15 - Last names beginning with L-R;
Friday, Jan. 16 - Last names beginning with S-Z;
Tuesday, Jan. 20 - Last names beginning with A-K;
Wednesday, Jan. 21, and Thursday, Jan. 22 - Open to all students.
Persons who register in-person must submit their applications for admission at least two weekdays before registering for classes during the above dates.
