The Western Stage at Hartnell College announces one substitution to its 2010 lineup and a change to the performance schedule for the final production of the 2010 season.
The musical FOOTLOOSE will be performed instead of the originally scheduled GREASE. FOOTLOOSE will play September 25 through October 16, with a special Gala performance on October 9. FOOTLOOSE, by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie, is a musical love story based on the popular movie that captured the heart of America about a teenage boy from the city who moves to a small town where rock and roll music and dancing are against the law. This smash hit is filled with heart-stopping acrobatics and choreography, a blast of dazzling dances and electrifying music. It plays September 25, 26, October 1, 2, 3, 8, 10, 15, and 16 with a special Gala performance on October 9.
The last production of the season is A MEXICAN CHRISTMAS CAROL, which will play November 20 through December 5 so that theater-goers can enjoy this wonderful performance in advance of the holiday season. A MEXICAN CHRISTMAS CAROL is adapted by Juan Antonio Ramos from the well-loved novel by Charles Dickens. In it, Scrooge is Dona Avaricia, the richest, greediest and cruelest woman in town. On Christmas Eve she learns the most profound lesson of her life as three Christmas spirits take her on a journey to rediscover the tragic family events that define her past, confront the misery that surrounds her present, and peer into a dark and undesirable future. It plays November 20, 21, 27, 28, December 3, 4 and 5.
