Hartnell College presents "From Dust to Hope: Visualizing The Grapes of Wrath in FSA photographs" from February 26- March 8 in the Seminar Gallery of the Visual Arts Building. An opening reception will be held on Monday, February 26, from 4-7 p.m. at the Gallery.
The exhibit, curated by Hartnell’s Center for Teacher Education Director Denise Cook, features Farm Security Administration photographs from the Hartnell College collection. The powerful photographs depict the migration to California of many Depression-era families searching for a better life.
This show is presented in conjunction with the Monterey County Big Read project, which encourages activities centered on reading John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. and Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 6-9 p.m.
