Utility improvements in Hartnell College's Classroom/Administration Building (CAB) - the campus's major building - begin today and continue for several weeks.
As a consequence, two parking lots on the north and south sides of the building will be closed temporarily because of the use of large construction equipment, according to Larry Carrier, vice president of administrative services and Robert Yin, project manager. They suggest persons coming to campus utilize a temporary parking lot located near the tennis courts on West Alisal Street.
"We apologize for an inconvenience to our students, faculty and staff, but look forward to a revitalized campus with state-of-the-art, modern facilities to meet the future education needs of our community," they said in a memo to employees.
The CAB project is one of the first to be undertaken as the result of the $131 million Measure H passed by voters in November 2002 to fund construction and campus improvements.
