Hartnell College and the Mission Trails Regional Occupational Program will present a career fair on Hartnellís main campus in Salinas on Thursday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In its 11th year, this hands-on non-traditional career and employment fair will present career options and employment opportunities for area job seekers, including high school students, Hartnell and other local college students, and anyone in the community looking to enter the work force.
More than 70 local businesses already have signed up to recruit at the fair for mostly entry-level positions. There will be employer information and activity booths for participants to try their hand at different occupations from a wide range of fields.
"Anyone interested in pursuing employment should come to this fair," says Cicely McCreight, who chairs the Hands-On Career and Employment Fair Committee at Hartnell. "Whether you know exactly what kind of job you would like to have or are wide open to possibilities, this will be a wonderful opportunity for you to explore your options. High school students are especially welcome."
Among the career fields represented will be healthcare, dentistry, floral design, mill work, cabinetry, computer repair, auto service, physical therapy, tractor repair and welding, cosmetology, administration of justice, transportation, construction, animal health, hospitality, food service, agriculture, electronics, and more.
The fair will be held on the Main Quad, the College Center, and surrounding areas of Hartnellís campus at 411 Central Avenue.
