UCLA Medical School molecular biologist and Hartnell alumnus Tom Wilkinson will speak at Hartnell College at 1 p.m. on Friday.
Dr. Wilkinson's talk is called "Anti-HIV Therapies: The Old and the New." He conducts research on the Human Immunodeficiency Virus and viral proteins using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and surface plasmon resonance techniques.
After graduation from Hartnell College, Dr. Wilkinson earned an engineering physics degree from Berkeley. He earned his Ph.D. in biology from Purdue University. He is currently a researcher at the UCLA Medical School's Molecular & Medical Pharmacology Department.
The talk will be in room 12 of Merrill Hall and is sponsored by the Hartnell College Math and Science Division and the MESA program. The talk is free and open to the public.
