Hartnell Students Named to National Who's Who Book

Thirteen Hartnell College nursing students have been selected as national outstanding campus leaders for the 2004 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.

They were selected on the basis of academic achievement, service to community, leadership in extracurricular activities, and potential for continued success, according to Ruth McMullen, Hartnell's director of counseling, matriculation and transfer services.

"We are extremely proud of the Hartnell College students who have been selected," she said. "They join an elite group of students from more than 1,400 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign nations."

The Hartnell students are:
Misty Conklin of Capitola;

Maggie McGehee of Los Gatos;

Maria L. Garcia of Greenfield;

Stephanie Calderon of Salinas;

Trisha Cathey of Salinas;

Megan Cuizon of Salinas;

Bryan DaSilva of Salinas;

Stephanie Guevara of Salinas;

Leticia Hernandez of Salinas;

Dayna Jiminez of Salinas;

Iren Nicholas of Salinas;

Monica Sweeney of Salinas;

and Nick Veliz of Salinas.


Outstanding students have been honored in the directory since it was first published in 1966.
