Sixty dance students at Hartnell College will present "The Dance Response" at the college's main theater on Thursday and Friday, May 15 and 16.
Sponsored by the college's fine arts department, the concert begins at 7 p.m. on both nights, and is free and open to the public.
"The program is an open-ended expression of reactions to a wide range of different situations," according to Megan Morais, director of the college's dance program and a dance instructor.
Morais choreographed four of the program's numbers - "We're All Made of Stars" (modern dance), "The Blues Don't Bother Me" (jazz), "May" (modern) and "Meditation" (ballet).
Daniel Garcia, a professional choreographer and a Hartnell student, choreographed "Scream," a hip hop-jazz number.
Other Hartnell dance students choreographed other parts in the program.
