Science and health take center stage at the first annual family health and science day at Hartnell College on Saturday, May 12, sponsored by Hartnell and the Alisal Union School District.
The event, to be held at the Merrill Hall Science Building on Hartnellís main campus at 411 Central Avenue in Salinas, will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In addition to the nutrition and health workshops, there will be physics demonstrations, a rocket and robotics workshop, free planetarium star shows, solar telescope viewing, a Mayan math demonstration, and other science and health related workshops, displays, and presentations.
Activities are geared toward upper elementary school-aged children and their parents, but all ages are welcome.
The event is free to the public and free parking is available on all campus parking lots on Alisal Street. Food and beverages will be available for sale.
