The community-wide committee charged with overseeing construction projects at Hartnell College will meet on campus Thursday, June 2.
The group, officially called the Bond Oversight Committee, will meet at 3 p.m. in the board room of the Classroom/Administration Building (CAB).
The public is invited to attend, according to Joey Lasnik, chair of the committee.
The committee came into existence following the passage in 2002 of Measure H - a $131 million bond measure that is financing additional classrooms, renovating buildings, upgrading technology systems, updating safety equipment, and bringing the college into the 21st century.
The committee's agenda on June 2 includes facilities planning and construction updates by Stan Crane, assistant to the president for Measure H, and other administrators.
The committee's purpose, as stated in California's Education Code, is "to inform the public concerning the expenditure of bond revenues." The group is also charged with ensuring that no funds are used for any teacher or administrative salaries or other school operating expenses.
