A meeting to keep community members informed about the progress of construction projects at Hartnell College will be held on campus Friday, June 23.
The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. in room 112 of the Classroom/Administration Building (CAB).
The purpose of the monthly meetings is to update community members, Hartnell faculty, staff members and students about construction projects and campus upgrades, according to Stan Crane, assistant to the president. The campus changes are funded by the successful passage in 2002 of the college's $131million Measure H bond and other state funds.
The finishing touches are being put on a new $19 million, 68,000-square-foot learning resource center (library), which was dedicated May 12 along with the new $18 million, three-level parking structure which opened in January with the start of the spring semester.
Several other campus improvements are planned for the years ahead, including a new Center for Assessment and Lifelong Learning and a new Classroom/Administratoin Building on the main campus as well as the expansion of Hartnell's East Campus, located at 1752 E. Alisal St. There also will be several improvements in the college's infrastructure.
