The Hartnell College Board of Trustees and the college's Bond Oversight Committee are seeking candidates for the committee charged with overseeing campus improvements financed by the passage of a $131 bond measure in 2002.
"The Bond Oversight Committee," according to Hartnell President Edward J. Valeau, "ensures that no funds are used for any teacher or administrative salaries or other school operating expenses."
Candidates for the two vacant positions must meet certain criteria, according to Valeau. "One person must currently be active in the support and organization of Hartnell College, such as a member of an advisory council or foundation," he said. "One member must be active in a business organization representing the business community located within the college district," Valeau added.
Applications for the positions may be made by submitting a letter outlining qualifications to President Edward J. Valeau, Hartnell College, 156 Homestead Ave., Salinas, CA 93901, before July 15.
Applications will be reviewed by members of the Bond Oversight Committee and referred to the college's Board of Trustees for appointment.
