Photographer Roger Fremier Exhibiting His Works at Blackstone Winery Gallery

July 29, 2002

"Selections," an exhibit by Monterey Peninsula photographer Roger Fremier, is now open at the Blackstone Winery Gallery in Gonzales. The exhibit, which runs through Nov. 1, is being presented in association with the Hartnell College Gallery.

The Blackstone gallery is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Admission is free.

Fremier has taught photography at Monterey Peninsula College since 1968 and is the photography department chair. He became interested in photography when he worked as a sports photographer for a daily newspaper. He later established his own business, Photographs II, specializing in editorial, advertising and public relations. He now publishes portfolios and offers workshops through Photographs II.

When he isn't teaching at the college or leading workshops on the Monterey Peninsula or to such locations as France and Spain, he can be found printing special edition portfolios of his work.

Fremier has had more than 50 group or solo exhibits in such galleries as the Center of Photography in Woodstock, N.Y., the Fresno City Art Museum, and the Talli Gallery in New York. His work is the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London.

The Blackstone Winery is located at 800 S. Alta St. in Gonzales. To reach the winery, take Highway 101 south toward Gonzales and exit at Gloria Road. Turn right and go for one half mile to the entrance of Blackstone Winery.
