Tamberly Petrovich, who has more than 20 years of human resources experience in the public sector, has been named Hartnell College's new director of human resources and equal employment opportunity, pending approval of the college's board of trustees.
She replaces Sallie Savage, who retired this month after eight years of service to Hartnell.
Hartnell President Edward J. Valeau, in a letter to faculty and staff, said he is recommending Petrovich's appointment to the college's governing board.
Petrovich, according to Valeau, has had human resources experience in both education and local government.
Valeau said, "Ms. Petrovich comes to us directly from the County of Monterey where she performed the duties of senior personnel analyst to the assistant county administrator. She comes highly recommended. Her strong analytical skill, intelligence and problem-solving ability have made her an invaluable and key resource for Monterey County."
Petrovich earned her B.A. degree in sociology from the University of California, San Diego, and her M.S. in human resources management and development from Chapman College.
