Read Steinbeck for Credit at Hartnell College

August 20th, 2007

Hartnell College offers an opportunity for community members to learn more about Salinas’ favorite son, John Steinbeck, in the class “The Art of Steinbeck.”

The class, English 41, leads students through the short stories, novels, and films of Steinbeck in a collaborative group setting. Learn how Steinbeck’s writings on American culture were informed by his astute observations of the local, national, and international arenas.

Come see how modern popular films like Little Miss Sunshine and The Motorcycle Diaries tie into themes in Steinbeck’s work.

Register through August 27th, or attend the first class on Wednesday, August 22. The semester-long class meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11 a.m. in room 285 of the Classroom Administration Building on Hartnell’s Main Campus.
