Hartnell College Schedules Meeting to Brief Community on Construction Projects

August 23, 2003

Upcoming construction projects at Hartnell College will be discussed with the community and college staff members on Friday, August 29.

The session will be held at 1 p.m. in the Board Room, located in the CAB Building. It is the first such monthly meeting scheduled during the 2003-04 academic year by Hartnell President Edward J. Valeau.

"The once-a-month meetings," said Valeau, "are designed to keep interested persons informed on the progress of major construction projects, which are funded through our successful bond measure."

Measure H - the bond measure approved by voters last November - will finance a variety of campus improvements, including new classrooms and a new library.

Valeau said he was looking forward to meeting with staff and community members "as Hartnell College continues to be on the forefront in serving our students through new technologically progressive facilities."

The president said construction consultant Michael Maas and college administrators will be present at the meeting, which will include a question-and-answer session.

Other meetings are scheduled for Sept. 26, Oct. 24, Nov.19, and Dec. 10. All meeting will be held at 1 p.m. in the Board Room. For more information, call the president's office at (831) 755-6900.
