SALINAS, Calif.- Hartnell College Foundation's Women's Education Leadership Initiative(WELI) presents the Professional Women's Mega Mixer, at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013. The event will be at McShane's Nursery & Landscape Supply located at 115 Hwy. 68 in Salinas, CA. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.
The special guest speaker for the evening will be Secretary of California State and Consumer Services Agency, Anna Caballero, who is an inspiration for women everywhere. Her record as a businesswoman, public servant, and community leader is astounding.
The 'Mega Mixer' will feature a silent auction with proceeds to benefit the WELI program. The event will also include dozens of informational booths and provide attendees with the opportunity to meet representatives from premier Monterey County organizations representing education, retail, financial, professional services, health, fitness, beauty, and more.
WELI is an award-winning program that offers scholarship and mentorship to women. It was designed to increase the leadership capacity, workforce skills, college enrollment, and college completion rate of women, single parents, and re-entry students in Monterey County. The program has graduated 76 women scholars, introduced a new mentorship component, and raised the scholarship amount from $1,500 to $2,000 per WELI scholar.
