How to Watch Construction Progress at Hartnell College Without Visiting Campus

October 26th, 2004

Salinas Valley residents can watch the construction progress of two new buildings going up at Hartnell College without stepping foot on campus.

Persons can see the new $21.6 million Learning Resource Center (library) and three-level parking garage being built on the corner of Central and Homestead avenues by going to Hartnell's Measure H site (http://old-www.hartnell.edu/h) and clicking on the construction Webcams under "Related Topics" on the right-hand side of the homepage, according to James Fitch, college Webmaster.

Measure H is the $131 million bond measure approved by voters in November 2002. Stan Crane, assistant to the president for Measure H, reports that the construction programs are "on schedule and on budget."

The new library is scheduled to open in early 2006. The garage, which will provide the campus with 500 more parking spaces than are presently available, will open in fall 2005.
