Transfer Day/College Night to be Held at Hartnell College on Wednesday, Nov. 8

October 26th, 2006

The 21st annual Salinas Valley Transfer Day/College Night will be held at Hartnell College on Wednesday, Nov. 8.

The event assists high school students and their parents in the selection of a college. It also helps Hartnell students who plan to transfer to four-year colleges and universities.

This year's theme is "Educational Bridges to Your Future," according to Celia Barberena, Hartnell's vice president of student services. The free event is held in the College Center.

More than 50 public and private colleges and universities, including eight campuses of the California State University and seven campuses of the University of California, will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about admission requirements, academic programs, financial aid and other support services.

The Transfer Day part of the program, designed for Hartnell students who are preparing to transfer to four-year colleges and universities, will be held from 9:30 to noon.

In the evening, the College Night part of the program, aimed at Salinas Valley high school students and their parents, will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. During College Night, there also will be high school counselors available to answer questions.
