Transfer Day/College Night to be Held at Hartnell College on Wednesday, Nov. 9

November 7th, 2005

The 20th annual Salinas Valley Transfer Day/College Night - an event that assists students and their parents for the transition that comes when high school students enter college and Hartnell students transfer to four-year institutions of higher learning - will be held at Hartnell College on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

This year's theme is "Got Dreams? Education is the Answer," according to Ruth McMullen, Hartnell's director of counseling and matriculation. She said the event, which is free and held in the College Center, is always well attended, and looked forward to each year by parents as well as students in the Salinas Valley.

More than 62 public and private colleges and universities will be on hand this year to answer questions and provide information about admission and ac ademic programs.

The Transfer Day part of the program, designed for Hartnell students who are preparing to transfer to four-year colleges and universities, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon.

In the evening, the College Night part of the program, aimed at Salinas Valley high school students and their parents, will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. During College Night, there also will be high school counselors available to answer questions.
