The Hartnell College Board of Trustees - the policy-making body for the local community college - elected Steve McShane its president for 2006 on Tuesday (Dec. 6).
McShane, who has served two years of his first four-year term on the board, is product development manager for NewStar Fresh Foods of Salinas.
Trustee John Martinez was elected vice president.
Trustee Brad Rice, who won reelection to the board in November, begins his third four-year term. He was sworn in as was Kari Scheidhauer, who was elected to her first term on the board. A native of Minnesota, she is quality assurance manager for Mills Family Farms of Salinas.
Other trustees on the seven-member board are Bill Freeman, Aaron Johnson and Berna Maya. Sharolyn Robinson is the student representative to the board.
Regular board meetings for 2006 are scheduled the first Tuesday of each month in the board room, located in the Classroom/Administration Building (CAB). However the Janaury meeting will be held Jan. 10. Board meetings are open to the public.
