Hartnell and the Marines Deliver Toys for Tots

December 11th, 2007

The Hartnell College Child Development Center and the Hartnell Future Teachers Club have teamed up with the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program for the second year. On December 14 they will host approximately 200 area youngsters affiliated with the Center at 11:30 a.m. for their Toys for Tots party. Santa also will make an appearance.

The holiday toy celebration will take place in Hartnell’s Steinbeck Hall in the College Center on Hartnell’s main campus at 411 Central Avenue in Salinas.

The Marine Corps started the Toys for Tots program in 1947. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.

All children enrolled in the Child Development Center, their siblings, and parents are encouraged to attend the celebration.
