Swimming is an alternative way to get a great cardiovascular and overall muscular workout with little or no impact on the joints, i.e. knees, ankles, hips. With the use of specially designed resistance/floatation cuffs, students have free range of motion to travel through the water, working against the resistance from the water and the cuffs. Students can set their own tempo, from very relaxed to very intense, based on their needs/desires. Students don't need to know how to swim OR worry about getting their hair wet! This can be a great form of therapy for those with back, knee or hip problems or recovering from replacement surgery in these joints, too.
