Hartnell College is based on the semester system of Fall Semester (mid-August to mid-December), Spring Semester (mid-January to early June), and a six-week Summer Session (mid-June to late July). International students who are applying outside the United States are encouraged to send their application and supporting documents by the following dates:
Fall Semester: June 15
Spring Semester: November 15
Summer Session: April 15
Hartnell College requires international students to complete the equivalent of an American high school diploma and to present a TOEFL score of at least 460 (paper-based)/140 (computer-based)/or 48 (internet-based).
The following documents must be submitted to the International Student Services Office before the application will be considered for admission:

A completed International Student Application

TOEFL score of 460 (paper-based)/140 (computer-based)/48 (internet-based), or better. Hartnell College also recognizes STEP EIKEN test results. Applicants must pass Grade Pre-1 or higher.

All transcripts from high school(s) and college(s) attended in the student's country, in English

All transcripts from high school(s) and college(s), English Language Centers, and Adult Education classes attended in the United States or another country

A notarized financial statement verifying financial solvency ($13,000 for one academic year)
